Maui Jim Kahuna sunglasses - fabulous Dec 29, 2008
I purchased my first pair of Maui Jim Kahuna sunglasses several years ago and have worn them everyday, dropped them many times (UH!) and made several minor repairs because of those drops and still loved them. Finally needed a new pair and found them here on Amazon.com - They are exactly the same quality, comfort and vision protection that I'd become used to wearing. Thanks for having these still available.
Protection, contrast and clarity: No other match for this product Nov 29, 2008
Recently having refractive surgery (Lasik), I needed sunglasses to deal with the glare of the sun, needed added UV protection and a lens that would give more contrast/clarity of vision. I was searching for a pair of sunglasses that would accomplish that goal when driving and casual wear.
I considered other brands of sunglasses that had polarized lenses such as Oakley, Costa del Mar, and Ray Ban. No other lens gave me the clarity and improved visual clarity that this set can achieve.
The Kahuna which means 'expert', lives up to its name. There are many features that set this pair of sunglasses apart from the competition:
A superthin glass lens
Polarized plus 2 lens that cut UV radiation, blue light and glare
Saltwater effective coatings on the lenses
Adjustable metal core temples
Spring hinges
The design, by the manufacturer is recommended for OBLONG ,ROUND ,OVAL face shapes. The lenses have a slight lateral coverage to cut out glare from the periphery of vision.
The polarized feature cuts through the intense glare of the sun and gives a higher degree of contrast than other sunglasses that I have tried. The styling is superb, as is the solid construction. The glasses are lightweight and comfortable. The fit is perfect.
The glasses come with a microfiber drawstring case and solid hard clamshell case.
The cost is high, but the features are truly functional and unmatched!
VERDICT:
I highly recommend this line of sunglasses. These are the best sunglasses I have ever worn.

I purchased a pair of the Maui Jim Sun Glasses while on vacation in Maui this year. The price seemed quite high ($260), but these glasses really do cut the glare, are rugged, adjustable, and come in a very good protective case. If you want to splurge on a pair of decent shades, these are a very good choice.
